I love this book, I think this is my 3rd or 4th time reading it. I enjoy reading all of Lani Lynn Vales books over and over keeping up with the characters from story line to story line. You don't have to read them in order but I find them more enjoyable when I do. I still end up though wanting to know more about Georgia's brothers. I mean in these series Lani Lynn has covered military, bikers, police, firemen, paramedics and Doctors .... Why not some southern farmers ! Read about the sexiness and I'm sure you'll find your self wanting to visit this wonderful places just to see if in deed any of these characters really do exist?!?!

I Mean Really when God was handing out talent I think he Overloaded Lani Lynn Vale with an INSANE amount of Writing GENIUS!
So I got Coup De Grace and I did a little dance. This wasn’t just your average rump shake this was a Twerking, Carlton, Elaine spaz attack of happiness. I knew that Michael’s book was going to KNOCK MY socks and panties clean off.
Speaking of which has anyone see my panties they seem to have taken off in search of Michael to throw themselves at him ;-)
The book was beyond what I expected, I love everything about Michael. He was this strong sexy as hell man. He was so beautifully damaged and strong at the same time is was beautifully written. Mental illness is a quiet illness. The stigma surrounding it makes it so difficult for people to reach out to get treatment.

Nikki, I have loved Nikki since Double Tap. She was his missing puzzle piece and they fit like a laser cut expensive puzzle. I have a slight girl crush on her, I just want to pet her just a little bit!

Michael was always the one that was never really given much information on. this was because it was always said that he didn't share anything about himself. there was times that little bits of information was given, but not much. the only thing that you were given was that he was covered in tattoos. Nikki is the sister of Nico, Michael's fellow SWAT team member. their story is one that they both love one another but are too stubborn to see that they need to actually share their fears to make their life together possible. i likes these two. Nikki was the perfect female counterpart for Michael. she doesn't see Michael any different once things come to the surface. she just loves him more.
finally getting Michael's story was the perfect ending for the KPD-SWAT series. and i know that these guys will still make their presence known in future books.
I was excited to read Michael and Nikki story and the background on both of them. This is the seventh book in the Code-11 KPD Swat Series.

Michael went out with Nikki for a short time till he said he never wanted to have children and that made Nikki think twice about this relationship. Months later after Michael came upon a gruesome scene; once again they were in the same room together at the hospital. He has said that he didn’t think he was good enough for Nikki due to him being bipolar. Not only was Michael is dealing with this, but his ex-wife who happens to be biggest witch ever never making it easy on Nikki. I’m going to say, I am pretty shocked at Joslin actions, but how she is with Michael’s family.

What I loved about Michael is even though he thought he wasn’t good enough, I felt he didn’t give himself enough credit at what a truly awesome guy he was even with kids. The storyline in this book kept me reading from the first page till the last page. I didn’t want it to end, but felt that Michael and Nikki’s story was told really well. You get the drama that includes a serial killer, very hot sex scenes and get to see some of the others guys from previous books as well.

I could feel what Michael was going through on a daily basis how he felt, but to understand him show what a truly good man he was. I loved him showing Nikki the tattoo parlor where she meets Peek and Allison they were a funny couple as well. I think what got me is when Nikki found out she was expecting and how Michael took it. I could understand what he was thinking, but I was glad he finally realizes what he was missing.

Every time Lani writes a new book, they keep getting better and better every time. I’ve been reading her books from the start and can’t wait to see what is next for her. If you’re thinking about getting this book don’t, just go one-click it today. I promise you’ll love it, like I did.
The sex was constant yet the communication sucked. He tried to tell Nikki he didn't mind kids, he just didn't want to biologically father them. I don't think they ever finished that conversation. Maybe they did and I missed it.

There was a sense of imbalance for me. The previous books seemed somewhat realistic but this was all over the place. Michael's ex does not play as big of a role as you would think based on the beginning of the book. You find out what happens to her in a small paragraph in the epilogue. I was not impressed. Nothing that happened with the serial killer seemed like something that would happen. And that twist. Ugh. You know how sometimes people are going through stuff and it shows in the writing? This seems like that book.
Michael knows he made a mistake when he broke up with Nikki, he knew she wanted kids and he didn't. However Michael had his reasons and now two years later he is willing to look at other ways to have a child if it means he can have Nikki in his life. Once Nikki understands who Michael is and the side of him he is afraid of, she loves him more. When Michael is pulled into a case that could put Nikki in danger, he does what he has to keep her protected.

There were aspects I liked in this one but there were a couple of things that I didn't. Michael is often in his own head and I think it keeps him at a distance for a reader a bit. Nikki is hilarious and hot tempered, she was delightful. Another good read in this series.
