This story takes place in Salem with witches, ghost tours, dead people talking & showing up to help solve several murders. Craig Rockwell is an FBI agent that found a girl murdered years ago and has been haunted by that event all these years. When another woman is murdered in a similar way he steps in to help solve this murder reuniting with his two best childhood friends Vince & Jack. Devin Lyle lives in Salem and writes children's books about a witch, based on Devin's deceased aunt. Devin's Aunt Mina is a hoot and I really enjoyed her.

The story was interesting because Heather Graham gives a lot of details about the surrounding areas in her books and I like that history. There is danger, a love story, numerous victims, Krewe of Hunters investigators that were in the earlier books and a host of her characters that we learn about.

I had figured out who the killer was before the end but not so far ahead that it ruined the suspense for me. You can read this book as a stand alone but I have enjoyed the entire series so I have read the books in order. I would recommend this series.

The Hexed by Heather Graham

This continuation of the slightly paranormal ghost series takes place in Salem, MA. A lot of history on the witch trials is included along with the present day investigation of a series of murders in the area.
The Krewe as well as the main characters can see and talk to ghosts. And it's catching.

A good suspenseful mystery.
I am a big fan of this author. I like the way she combines supernatural, action, and romance. I find myself liking her characters and how they interact with each other. She always puts together a nice story with a few unexpected twists along the way and at the end. She also uses locations effectively.
For me, Heather Graham's books are a fun relaxing get-a-way. Always a good choice when you want something light-weight and entertaining. A good beach read, something while you are waiting in the doctor's office or curled on the couch.
The stories and characters are becoming too predictable. I'm sure this is the author's intent and the reader knows what they're getting. After a couple of books, it can get well, boring. It's always a beautiful and troubled woman paired with the tall, muscled, handsome new Krewe member, with a past, and they fall in love. The endings are formulaic. Would like to read more about the interaction with the Krewe and how they solve a crime. Did enjoy the story set in Salem and as always, the element of history.
I normally love Heather Graham's books...I have read soooo many. This one is only okay. The story itself isn't bad, it is her typical paranormal mystery with a light smattering of romance. The story seems to move at a nice pace....girl finds dead body, meets hunky FBI agent, discovers she can see dead people and is now the next target for the killer. The one thing I didn't like about this book was the ending. Normally Heather is pretty good with wrapping up all the details and explaining how the killer committed the crimes. That was really lacking here. I felt it was just kind of skipped and it was left hanging.
By far the best of the best Krewe novel yet. Before the Krewe series she had a very unique style that made her books more then just the usual paranormal romance. I am a 60 year old male that enjoys a good murder mystery but have found the majority of books written in this genera are long on sex and short on plot. But Heather Graham is one of those rare artests that understand just what it takes to make you really like her characters and keep turning pages and biting your fingernails to the quick. Her best stories are set in Florida but regardless location her books are great. When she started the Krewe books it seamed like she had lost something. I have read all of them and while they are very good books I felt that was using a cookie cutter serial format.When I read her novella Crimson Twilight I was pleasantly surprised, it seemed she was getting back to her old self. Then I read The Hexed and once again the old old Heather Graham shown through. Her next installment is due out October 1st, I hope she can keep it up.

Heather always gives a lot of details and history of the stories areas in her books. I love the Krewe of Hunters stories and this is one of those.
The Hexed kept me interested for several nights' reading. I wondered what all the fuss was about with Heather Graham novels and now I know! The story was compelling and I especially enjoyed learning more about Salem and the Witch Trials that took place there. Graham wrote a wonderful backdrop for the story of Devin and Rocky, coupled it with mysterious murders and I found myself looking forward to reading every night. Reading to find out who dunnit is highly entertaining.
Because I write in this category, (ghost and psychic) I'm probably hard on authors, but I am happy to report the aspects of this book I really liked Firstly the cover and branding in the series, the font, the title, the characters were solid and each had a suspicious motive, the story was solid. Ghosts at the window were compelling, the raven was a unique and interesting character, Graham's writing is very good, and the ending tied everything up.
I took a star off because I didn't love the romance but that could be just me. All in all, Teh Hexed was highly readable and I'll definitely pick up another of Heather Graham's novels to study her successful rise to stardom!
